5 Sabah reps sworn into state cabinet

KOTA KINABALU – Sook assemblyman Datuk Ellron Angin of Sabah Star is one of the five ministers who are sworn in to the state cabinet this morning. He is appointed state youth and sports minister.

He joins four other assemblymen who are sworn in before state governor Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at Istana Negeri.

Meanwhile, Datuk Jafry Ariffin (Sukau-Umno) is now state tourism, culture and environment minister and Shahelmy Yahya (Tg Keramat-Umno) will hold the community development and people’s wellbeing portfolio.

Datuk Yakubah Khan (Karambunai-Umno) is named state science technology and innovation minister while Datuk Aripin Mohd Arif (Membakut-Umno) is special duties minister.

PBS deputy secretary-general Julita Mojungki and Sabah Star’s first-time assemblywoman Flovia Ng are made assistant community development and people’s wellbeing ministers. They are the only two women representatives in Gabungan Rakyat Sabah.

Former Sabah chief minister and SAPP president Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee is a nominated assemblyman.

PAS also managed to get a position in Sabah with the appointment of Dr Aliakbar Gulasan as one of the six appointed assemblymen.

Meanwhile, Datuk Abidin Madingkir (Paginatan-Sabah Star) and Datuk Wetrom Bahanda (Bandau-Bersatu) are assistant ministers to the chief minister.

Assistant finance ministers are Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan (Apas-Umno and Jasni Daya (Pantai Dalit-Umno)

Datuk Limus Jury (Kuala Penyu-Perikatan Nasional) and Robert Tawik @ Nordin (Bingkor-Sabah Star) are assistant works ministers.

The assistant agriculture and fisheries ministers are Datuk James Ratib (Sugut-Umno) and Hendrus Anding (Tandek-PBS).

Tamin @ Tamin Zainal (Pantai Manis-Umno) is assistant industrial development minister while Datuk Isnin Aliasnih @ Liasnih (Klias-Umno) is assistant local government and housing minister and Mohamad Hamsan Awang Supian (Sg Sibuga-Umno) is assistant finance minister

Assistant Rural Development ministers are Samad Jambri @ Jamri (Labuk-PN) and Harun Durabi (Bengkoka-Umno).

Assistant tourism, culture and environment minister is Datuk Joniston Lumai @ Bangkuai. (Kiulu-PBS).

Datuk Ruddy Awah (Pitas-Independent) is assistant science technolgy and innovation minister while Andi Muhammad Suryady Bandy (Tg Batu-Umno) is assistant youth and sports minister.

Other nominated assemblyman are Suhaimi Nasir (Umno), Raimie Unggi (Umno), Datuk Amisah Yassin (Bersatu) and Jaffari Walliam (Bersatu). – The Vibes, October 8, 2020
