SEREMBAN – Kuala Pilah MP Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith has apologised for falling asleep during a Khatam and Huffaz graduation ceremony for students of SM Agama Sains Kuala Pilah at Palm Mall near here yesterday.

According to his special officer, Farahiah Zubir, the deputy works minister was not feeling well yesterday, but insisted on turning up for the event and had taken some medication before going there, Bernama reported.

“Eddin Syazlee apologises for falling asleep at the event,” she said today.

A video that has since gone viral shows the Negri Sembilan Perikatan Nasional chairman asleep in his chair and not getting up when called by the master of ceremony to officiate the event.

Fortunately for the audience present during the event, a person understood to be a bodyguard succeeded in waking up Eddin Syazlee.

Farahiah was also quoted by Sinar Harian as saying that the Bersatu minister had approved the installation of air-conditioning for the school during the visit.

“He also offered assistance to the school to attain buses for the students,” Farahiah told the daily. – The Vibes, April 11, 2021
