KUALA LUMPUR – Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa has described rumours of his second marriage to a local singer as slander aimed at ruining his political career.

He expressed his regret and displeasure over such talk, saying it has also affected other parties’ reputation.

“I’m a politician, it’s okay if my friends want to slander me, but don’t involve other people, who also have families,” he told reporters here yesterday.

Annuar said to his knowledge, the singer is from a well-respected family.

He expressed hope that she will not be dragged further into the matter.

The Ketereh MP said he does not intend to act on the issue, but urged those behind the rumours to think about their actions.

He said he prays that these individuals cut back on immoral acts in the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

“I don’t want to be angry; it is better to just be patient.”

Speculation that Annuar married Datuk Nora Ariffin has been making the rounds on Twitter since Wednesday.

The singer has rubbished the claims. – Bernama, April 30, 2021
