KUALA LUMPUR – Sixteen localities in Sg Ruan as well as seven localities in Sempalit, Raub, Pahang, will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from May 8 to 21.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the 16 localities in Sg Ruan are Taman Dahlia, Taman KSM Sungai Ruan, Taman Bunga Raya, Taman Sungai Ruan, Taman Cempaka, Taman Bunga Matahari, Taman Koperasi Mewah, and Taman Melewar.

Others are Taman Mawar, Taman Mawar Impian, Taman Bunga Tanjung, Taman Bunga Angsana, Taman Melor, Taman Orkid, Rumah Murah Sungai Ruan, and Kg Baru Sg Ruan.

The seven localities in Sempalit are Kg Baru Sempalit, Taman Sempalit Indah, Taman Sempalit Baru, Taman Sempalit Aman, Taman Sempalit Jaya, Taman Emas, and Taman Emas Baru. 

“The enforcement of the EMCO is to allow the Health Ministry to conduct screenings and contact tracing to prevent further infection,” he said in a statement here today.

The EMCO will also involve Sekolah Sukan Tunku Mahkota Ismail (SSTMI) Bandar Penawar in Kota Tinggi, Johor from May 8 to 21 following a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases within a week with a high infectivity rate.

Ismail Sabri said that the Health Ministry has conducted 212 screenings so far, with 96 testing positive.

Meanwhile, he said the EMCO at Taman Seri Desa, Kuala Krau in Temerloh, Pahang will end tomorrow (May 7).

He also said that 411 individuals were arrested yesterday for flouting the standard operating procedures, with 408 of them compounded and three remanded.

Among the offences were failure to record personal details/register at the entrance of premises (168 cases), not wearing face masks (94), and failure to observe physical distancing (61).

In Ops Benteng, 14 illegal immigrants were arrested and 11 land vehicles seized yesterday, he added. – Bernama, May 6, 2021
