KUALA LUMPUR – Former Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam may spend Hari Raya Aidilfitri in police custody, following his arrest for the second time under the emergency ordinance yesterday.
In a Facebook post, he said he was arrested under Section 4(1) of the ordinance and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
“Tonight, it is very likely that I will continue to be detained here, and tomorrow, I will face a hearing for a remand order at IPD Dang Wangi.
“I hope my friends and comrades-in-arms pray for my well-being and release, so that I may spend Syawal with my family.”
Last night, Harian Metro reported that Dang Wangi district police chief Mohamad Zainal Abdullah confirmed Lokman’s arrest.
He was quoted as saying the investigation is being carried out by Bukit Aman’s Classified Crime Investigation Unit.
Last month, Lokman was arrested over his statement on the death of a Pahang police officer. – The Vibes, May 12, 2021
