JERTIH – Terengganu Agriculture, Agro-based Industry and Rural Development Committee chairman Azman Ibrahim was today fined RM2,000 for breaching Hari Raya Aidilfitri standard operating procedures under the movement control order (MCO).
Besut district police chief Abdul Rozak Muhammad confirmed the matter to Bernama.
He said the compound amount is the maximum that can be imposed on an individual.
“For any corporation or organisation that violates the Aidilfitri SOPs, the maximum compound rate is RM10,000.”
Azman, who is also Jabi assemblyman, earlier went to the Besut district police headquarters to record his statement, after a photo of a man visiting him went viral on social media yesterday.
The 55-year-old visitor, who declined to be identified, was also fined RM2,000.
The MCO is in place from May 12 to June 7. Visits to houses and graves are barred under the Raya SOPs. – Bernama, May 14, 2021
