KUALA LUMPUR – What are you waiting for? It is time to withdraw your support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman was told.
Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi is urging Tajuddin to withdraw support for the prime minister after his “removal” yesterday.
“What are you waiting for Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman? You have been sacked as Prasarana chairman. Immediately announce your withdrawal of support for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. #TakutApaLagi,” said Puad in a Facebook post today.
Puad has been vocal in calling Umno lawmakers to withdraw support for the Perikatan Nasional government and Muhyiddin.
Yesterday, Tajuddin was removed as Prasarana Malaysia Bhd non-executive chairman effective immediately, two days after a collision between two light rail transit (LRT) trains.
His gaffes during a press conference near the incident site yesterday did not help matters as videos of him making light of the situation went viral.
His removal comes after a letter issued by Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz was leaked. The letter was sent out to Tajuddin informing him of his removal from the non-executive post.
The document dated today was confirmed as genuine by an authorised Finance Ministry media spokesman.
Earlier, former Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak said Tajuddin will apologise to the public and media for the manner in which he conducted the press conference after the LRT crash on Monday. – The Vibes, May 27, 2021
