KUANTAN – Being influenced by fake news related to the Covid-19 vaccine and not checking the MySejahtera app are among the reasons why 10,000 residents did not show up for their vaccination appointment in the state.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said this following a briefing from the relevant parties on the issue of no-shows at vaccination centres in Pahang.

He said Raub has the highest number of absentees with 45%, followed by Pekan (43%), Maran (40%), Bera (28%), and Bentong and Jerantut (22% each).

“Apart from not being aware of the location, time and date of the vaccination appointment given by the MySejahtera app, some also said they forgot about it.

“There are also senior citizens who changed their minds after being influenced by fake news spread by family members, friends or on social media about the vaccine.”

Wan Rosdy said he hopes the younger generation could check the MySejahtera app of senior family members and remind them about the scheduled sessions. – Bernama, May 30, 2021
