PUTRAJAYA – Tan Sri Annuar Musa has hit out at power hungry politicians who are battling it out for power and positions during a time when the focus should be on handling the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic downturn.

Speaking during a press conference today, the Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general was elaborating on a Facebook post on his personal page yesterday when he said that it is all right for PAS and Umno to go back to the “drawing board” to ensure national stability.

“As an MP, I believe we must put the needs of the people first. I think some are now too focused on chasing positions, who should have the power, and we are not discussing the Malay agenda, the poverty agenda, the Malaysian agenda, the Covid-19 agenda and public hardship.

“Right now, I see no balance. Politicians are more concerned with jockeying for positions, when our focus should be on the problem faced by the people,” said Annuar.

The Ketereh MP pointed out that politicians should focus on the economy, as the stock market faces headwinds, and there is a lack of new investors heading into the country.

Annuar also admitted that he was quite confused when the tussle for the prime minister position began to take precedent over the desperate problem of ensuring public security.

The veteran politician also said Malay unity is the solution for the current political instability faced by the nation. – The Vibes, October 15, 2020
