KUALA LUMPUR – Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers can now update their status on the MySejahtera app, said National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
He said the app update also allows users to enter the month and year of their pregnancy due date, or breastfeeding status.
“Your appointment will be based on the vaccine that is suitable for you at a particular PPV (vaccination centre),” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, non-MySejahtera users are advised to call the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee hotline to update their status.
A graphic released by the committee on May 24 showed that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is suitable for women who are pregnant between 14 and 33 weeks, while the AstraZeneca and Sinovac jabs are unsuitable.
The AstraZeneca and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines have been approved for breastfeeding mothers, but the committee said data on the use of Sinovac for such individuals are limited.
Pregnant and breastfeeding users are also advised to seek medical consultation on the Covid-19 vaccine.
Last Sunday, Khairy said the MySejahtera app will be updated to allow users who received the wrong vaccination date to change or cancel their appointment, including those who opted for the AstraZeneca vaccine.
He added that the app will also allow users to key in information such as whether they are pregnant or breastfeeding. – The Vibes, June 2, 2021
