MELAKA – The Melaka state government’s administrative centre at the Seri Negeri complex here has been ordered closed from Monday until tomorrow following the detection of seven Covid-19 cases among staff.
State Health and Anti-Drug Committee chairman Datuk Rahmad Mariman said this is to enable health officials to trace the patients’ close contacts.
“The source of the infection is not yet known. The investigation is ongoing,” he said in a statement today.
Of the seven cases, six involved the Bentara Block, and the other, the Laksamana Block.
A total of 178 people have been screened so far.
Rahmad said 99 coronavirus infections were detected in the Berendam cluster, involving a factory here.
The facility has been ordered shut for a week from yesterday. – Bernama, June 3, 2021
