SEPANG – Fearing arrest for driving with an expired licence, a 21-year-old sped past a police roadblock at Km47.8 of the Damansara-Puchong Expressway, almost ramming into the officers on duty.
The incident about 11.30am on Saturday was caught on video by another road user, with the 30-second clip going viral on social media.
Sepang police chief Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said another man, aged 31 and claiming to be the owner of the black Lexus in the video, came to the station around 6.30pm to facilitate investigations.
“The car was driven by his younger brother in the incident,” said Wan Kamarul Azran in a statement today.
“Afraid of being detained for driving with an expired licence, the youth did not stop at the roadblock. His licence expired on January 9.”
The suspect, however, turned himself in to police at 8pm the same day. He tested negative for drugs.
