PUTRAJAYA – A total of 77 individuals, including celebrity judges on the All Together Now Malaysia (ATNM) talent search TV programme, have given their statements over alleged non-compliance with Covid-19 standard operating procedures, said Putrajaya district police chief A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz.
He said 50 celebrity judges, 25 participants and two Health Ministry officials have had their statements recorded at the district police headquarters since June 8.
The ministry officials’ statements will help determine if offences were committed, he told the press via WhatsApp today.
“Investigations are still under way.”
The Astro Production programme, which aired on June 6, received mixed reactions after it showed the judges not wearing a mask.
Last Friday, then Putrajaya top cop Mohd Fadzil Ali said those involved in ATNM, including the show’s judges, will be summoned to facilitate investigations.
He said the probe will be conducted under Regulation 18 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within Infected Local Areas) (Recovery Movement Control Order) Regulations (No. 3) 2021, and Section 269 of the Penal Code. – Bernama, June 17, 2021
