KUALA LUMPUR – Following yesterday’s incident, Prolintas has issued an immediate stop-work order for the affected construction site at the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH).
In a statement last night, it said that the developer and main contractor involved will give their full cooperation to the authorities carrying out the investigation.
It also confirmed that two Bangladeshi workers were injured and admitted to Sg Buloh Hospital for treatment.
“The incident did not involve the public or highway users as it took place in a closed construction site. DASH’s emergency response team was sent to the site to help with traffic control and the removal of the fallen scaffolding.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department report last night, the 7pm incident occurred near the NKVE’s Kota Damansara toll.
It is understood the victims were aged between 20 and 40 years old.
These workers were performing their tasks underneath the concrete slab when the incident occurred.
When rescue personnel arrived on site, they found concrete rubble and steel structures on the highway construction site. – The Vibes, June 20, 2021
