KOTA KINABALU – Sabah’s directive to allow dine-ins is subject to the approval of Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, said state Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
Referring to the Phase 1 of the state’s recovery plan, in accordance with the federal National Recovery Plan announced on June 28, Masidi said new SOPs have been presented to the federal government to be gazetted.
“The SOP revision was unanimously endorsed by the state Disaster Committee for Covid-19 chaired by state secretary (Datuk Seri Safar Untong), along with head of departments from the health, police, National Security Council, agencies that have also gone through the revision,” he said in a statement tonight.
This confirms that the state recovery plan SOPs issued by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor yesterday have not been implemented, not because the SOPs had not been drawn up, but because they had yet to receive federal endorsement.
Yesterday, Hajiji had announced the implementation of the recovery plan for Sabah as part of the state SOPs for MCO 3.0 starting today.
“Several social and economic activities will be allowed to operate in the implementation, such as dine-in in restaurants, eateries, hawkers, roadside stalls selling fish, vegetables and fruits as well as hair salons.
“The same with non-contact sports like golf, fishing and cycling would be allowed,” he had said. – The Vibes, June 29, 2021
