KUALA LUMPUR – The police will be transferring Misi Solidariti founder Sarah Irdina Mohammad Ariff– who is involved in promoting an anti-government demonstration on Saturday – from the Dang Wangi police headquarters to the Jinjang police station.
This comes after she was detained earlier today for possible sedition over a post she had made on Twitter.
Misi Solidariti called for a remote show of support for Sarah using the hashtag #FreeSarah.
“Sarah is very young like a lot of us and for the police to hold her in remand is OUTRAGEOUS!#LawanIntimidasi,” Misi Solidariti tweeted.

Earlier today, 20-year-old Sarah was present at Dang Wangi police headquarters for questioning.
According to Rajsurian Pillai, one of her lawyers, the police are investigating Sarah under Section 4 of the Sedition Act, and Section 233(1) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, over the posting.
He said that the police have detained her, but it is unsure how long she would remain in custody.
Sarah’s smartphone has been confiscated, and authorities are planning to raid her home, he added.
Also hauled up for questioning at the Dang Wangi station today were activists Tharma Pillai, Afiq Adib, and Muhammad Alshatri over the upcoming demonstration planned on Saturday.
The trio are being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for allegedly making statements conducive to public mischief, and Section 233(1) of the Communications and Multimedia Act for allegedly sharing offensive content.
The activists however said that they were not asked by the police to refrain from demonstrating, and the event on Saturday would be held as scheduled. – The Vibes, July 29, 2021
