KOTA KINABALU – All 27 Sabah districts are categorised as red zones as the state continues to register over 1,000 cases over the past nine days.
Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the state recorded 1,247 cases today, down 132 cases from yesterday.
“Overall, most of the cases (62%) are from close contact screenings, symptomatic 24% and 7% from clusters.
“All districts recorded an increase in cases with 770 of those involving close contacts. This shows a high possibility of non-compliance with SOPs,” he said.
“There were a total of 842 cases involving Category 1, 11 cases under Category 2, Categories 3, 4 and 5 (12),” he said.
Meanwhile, 4,447 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals, 3,409 at quarantine centres, 79 in prisons and temporary detention centres as well as five at private health facilities.
There are 141 cases in intensive care units statewide, with 59 needing ventilator support, he said. – The Vibes, August 9, 2021
