KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will meet menteris besar and chief ministers tomorrow amid speculation that a state of emergency will be declared.

The meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s Office at 9am, a source from Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari’s office told The Vibes.

Amirudin, Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Abang Johari Openg and Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow have confirmed being invited to the meet.

However, sources close to Abang Johari’s office said he will not be attending.

However, Istana Negara, in a statement this evening, said Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah believes there is no need to declare an emergency at this time, whether for the whole or parts of Malaysia.

The king stresses that Budget 2021, to be tabled at the next parliamentary sitting, is of utmost importance in the fight against Covid-19 and efforts to resuscitate the economy. – The Vibes, October 25, 2020
