KUALA LUMPUR – The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has called on federal lawmakers to grant their full support for the Budget 2021 in the interest of the Malaysian public.

In a statement issued by Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah said the budget is critical for the government, especially healthcare frontliners.

“Al-Sultan Abdullah has called on Dewan Rakyat members to respect the advice decreed by Seri Paduka Baginda to stop all political squabbles and to prioritise public welfare and harmony, so the Budget 2021 is approved without any disturbance.

“Seri Paduka Baginda reminded Dewan Rakyat members that political squabbles over personal interests is damaging to the nation and the people will become the victim while the country is still in the midst of facing the Covid-19 threat,” said Ahmad Fadil.

The Agong issued this decree after his weekly pre-cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the palace today.
