KUALA LUMPUR – It is now mandatory for federal civil servants to get vaccinated against Covid-19 by November 1.
According to the Public Service Department, exemptions are given only to employees with health issues preventing them from receiving the jab, and with documentation from government doctors.
Those who fail to comply will be subjected to disciplinary action, it said in a statement today.
“All civil servants are subject to provisions under the Civil Servants (Conduct and Discipline) Code of Conduct 1993.
“Federal government employees are required to complete their vaccinations by November 1.
“Within this period, those who have yet to be vaccinated can walk into vaccination centres provided for by the government.”
For now, 98% of federal government employees have gotten their jabs, while only 1.6% (16,902) have yet to be vaccinated.
“By requiring all federal government employees to be immunised, this will give the people confidence and guarantee of a smooth provision of services.
