KUALA LUMPUR – Grab users in the Southeast Asia region have been experiencing service disruptions since early this morning.
“Our teams are working hard to fix this and we will provide updates as they become available. We apologise for the inconvenience,” the Singapore-based company told Channel News Asia at around 10:20am this morning.
Affected users in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines took to social media to express their frustrations with the app, with comments on the matter spotted on the Singapore-based company’s Facebook page since around 8am.
Complications with the app were not limited to passengers as drivers also reported facing difficulties.
A user in Bangkok claimed that ride-hailing locations have been unavailable on the app for the past hour while drivers lamented being unable to receive requests for rides.
According to another user, GrabFood riders are also in a spot as they have been “rendered jobless in full gear” due to the application being unresponsive.
In reply to comments received, Grab said it is experiencing “some technical difficulties with our app”, adding that its engineers are “working at full steam to recover the app”.
At around 9am, the company released a statement on its official GrabFood Facebook page acknowledging the matter and stated that the issue is being looked into.
On Twitter, users of the e-hailing app have uploaded screenshots of the food delivery and transport services malfunctioning.
