MIRI – Pakatan Harapan (PH) has been taken to task for allegedly failing to implement key projects in Sarawak when it was in (federal) government.
Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) via the state’s Public Communication Unit in a statement today said that it had to intervene in order to rescue what PH had cancelled.
The party cited an example where PH had cancelled a key bridge project across Sg Igan in central Sarawak.
“It was the GPS state government that rescued the project costing RM285 million,” the statement said.
The Public Communications Unit, which is the official mouthpiece of the GPS state government, also provided Works Ministry data on the project.
It said that details of the project’s contract showed that it was terminated during the time when the PH was in Putrajaya (between 2018 and 2020).
The project has now been taken over by the state government and will be completed in 2024.
As polls draw near, both GPS and PH have been engaging in a war of words, with both accusing the other of failing the people of Sarawak. – The Vibes, December 11, 2021
