KUALA LUMPUR – Police are again looking for cosmetic entrepreneur Nur Sajat, this time to assist in the investigation into a fraud case involving a change of identity card information.

The Ampang Jaya district police headquarters said in a statement that Sajat, who is also a witness, is required to attend the trial proceedings of the case at the Ampang Jaya court on February 22.

“Any party with information about him can contact the investigating officer Inspector Mastura Abdul Basher at 018-205-3955.”

Last June, the police also sought her to attend court proceedings over a fraudulent identity card name and sex details change at the Ampang Jaya court.

On January 20 last year, Sajat was hauled up to the Shah Alam shariah high court to face charges for cross-dressing at a religious function, where she pleaded not guilty.

It is believed that she was arrested by the Selangor Islamic Department on January 6, 2021, after a video of herself under distress during the detention went viral on social media.

Sajat absconded from her charges, triggering authorities to issue an arrest warrant over her failure to appear in court.

However, Sajat subsequently fled to Thailand and presently resides in Australia after successfully seeking asylum in the country.

She caused further controversy after confessing to being groped by religious authorities during her arrest to various media outlets. – The Vibes, February 8, 2022
