KUALA LUMPUR – Viswaa Palani Kumar, the 10-year-old record holder for the Malaysia Book Of Records (MBOR) #MyMaskOn challenge, is eyeing to set more or break other records in the future.

“I trained for three weeks before taking part,” said Viswaa on the mask challenge after receiving his national record certificate yesterday along with a year’s supply of masks.

“I will continue to try my best and push myself to set and break new records in future.”

At the certificate ceremony, the boy was accompanied by his parents and older sister, who all travelled from Bahau, Negri Sembilan to the MBOR office in Petaling Jaya.

Viswaa set a new national record in January putting on 10 masks in 7.9 seconds as part of the month-long #MyMaskOn challenge with the support of local mask manufacturer Medicos to help encourage Malaysians to keep their masks on when they are out and about.

The current world record is held by Rocco Mercurio at 5.2 seconds set on August 5 last year.

MBOR marketing director Jwan Heah said the organisation is already working on a bigger #MyMaskOn campaign as part of its continuous message to Malaysians reminding them to always adhere to best health practices. – The Vibes, March 10, 2022
