KUALA LUMPUR – Celebrity preacher Ebit Lew is the subject of yet another police investigation after reports alleging sexual harassment were lodged.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department director Datuk Seri Abd Jalil confirmed with The Vibes that there was an ongoing investigation but refused to reveal too many details.
“We are conducting the investigation pursuant to previous reports we received.”
When asked to confirm which state the alleged offence was reported in, Jalil refused to comment.
“That is still classified information, but what I can say is that investigations are still being conducted by Bukit Aman.”
Reports have claimed that the latest investigations relate to an offence committed in Peninsular Malaysia.
Lew was in February charged with 11 counts of insulting the modesty of an individual under Section 509 of the Penal Code by the Kota Kinabalu magistrates’ court in Sabah.
He was accused of committing the offence through obscene photos he had allegedly sent to a Malay woman through WhatsApp in Tenom from March to June 2021.
Lew had claimed trial to the charges and was granted RM11,000 bail by magistrate Nur Asyraf Zohani. – The Vibes, April 5, 2022
