KUALA LUMPUR – Diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, “Asalkan Bukan Umno” (Anything But Umno) founder Haris Ibrahim has revealed that his days are numbered.

Taking to Facebook, the activist and political blogger said he found out 12 days ago that he only has between three to 12 months left to live.

“My family and I are now in discussions with doctors on possible treatments,” Haris said.

Besides informing the public of his unfortunate terminal illness, Haris also rallied the public to share images of their participation in political struggles throughout Malaysia over the past 15 years.

“A few of us would like to try and do something: a pictorial of our struggle over the last 15 years to take this nation back for the rakyat.

“If you have any photos of you, I and others in protests, rallies, etc, share them with us,” Haris added.

Those interested in sending Haris their photograph should include their name and the event at which the photograph was taken, including a short message if desired.

Photographs can be emailed to [email protected].

“I hope you understand that I tire easily these days. Hence, for now, I don’t take calls or meet. God bless,” Haris said.

Haris founded ABU in December 2011, with the aim of ousting Umno from the country’s administration.

A lawyer by profession, Haris also writes for “The People’s Parliament” blog. – The Vibes, April 16, 2022
