MIRI – The Sarawak Health Department and hospital authorities are roping in the community and local businesses to help with their blood donation drive.

The effort aims at replenishing supplies in various hospitals after the long Hari Raya Aidilfitri break.

In the northern border town of Lawas, the hospital got local food businesses to help by setting up special areas in their premises for the donation drive.

“The public are being encouraged to play their part in helping replenish the blood supplies urgently needed by hospitals. The restaurant operators in Lawas are responding well.

“They are allowing their outlets to be used as venues for customers to donate their blood,” said the Sarawak Public Communication Unit in a statement.
