KUALA LUMPUR – The flow of tributes to legendary actress and singer Adibah Noor Mohd Omar have not stopped pouring in following news of the celebrity’s passing earlier today.

“Speechless,” was the answer from veteran actress Fauziah Nawi, who worked with Adibah in the 2012 film Hoore! Hoore! directed by Saw Teong Hin.

“She was loved by many and (has) gone far too soon,” Fauziah said.

The sudden death of Adibah, who was reported to have suffered from stage four ovarian cancer, was also mourned by rapper and producer Altimet.

“She was a good person,” he said, fondly recalling the engaging and thought-provoking conversations he had had with her.

“I always looked forward to meeting her,” he added.

A common theme among entertainers The Vibes spoke to was how nice Adibah was in her treatment of people.

Stand-up comedian Kavin Jay says when he first started performing, Adibah made him feel “comfortable and at home”.

Kavin, who hosted the Maxman TV-produced The L8 Show with Adibah, explained that she was never selfish with advice and assistance and “always put a smile on our faces”.

Calling today a sad day for Malaysia, Kavin added that Adibah’s passing “is a huge loss to the Malaysian arts scene”. – June 18, 2022
