KOTA KINABALU – In less than a week, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has been labelled a “slanderer” and its president Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili “crazy”.
The latest party to go after the party is United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko), whose youth chief Felix Joseph Saang demanded PBS to stop its “slander”.
He added that Upko is not a “traitor” as Ongkili claimed, since leaving the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition was an act of sacrifice to safeguard Sabah’s sovereignty and interests.
“When Upko left BN (in 2018), it was a bold move to stop the evil acts of the said BN component (distributing MyKads to undocumented migrants), whereas PBS was among parties that chose to revive BN,” he said after attending a short protest at Gaya Street Sunday Market here yesterday.
“The Sabah Umno chief revealed that PBS had betrayed BN many times. We hope PBS will realise this and look in the mirror.
“Stop the political drama and quit vacillating. They (PBS) claim to fight in the frontline when in fact they are still hiding behind Umno-BN to defend their rank and position.
“Based on what Ongkili said, PBS is aware of what the BN component party had done but PBS seems to allow it just to maintain power.”
He was commenting on Ongkili’s comments that Upko had betrayed the coalition to form the Sabah government with Warisan shortly after the 2018 general election.
Last week, Ongkili said a BN component party gave out Malaysian identity cards and that it was identified in the 2012 royal commission of inquiry on migrants in Sabah.
He added that action should be taken against the political group, saying PBS had lodged numerous police reports on the matter over the years. – The Vibes, July 4, 2022
