KUALA LUMPUR – The sudden termination of the RapidKL bus service at the Pasar Seni LRT and MRT transit stations and KLCC LRT station has raised concerns among regular commuters.

Some have taken to social media to air their grouses, saying they depend on the bus service daily. It has been terminated since July 1.

However, Rapid Bus CEO Muhammad Yazurin Sallij Muhammad Yasin said the free service was stopped due to lacklustre reception since it started on June 17.

“We get an average of one passenger for each route as commuters prefer the trains. That is why we decided to terminate the service effective July 1,” he said in a statement to Getaran, The Vibes’ sister portal.

The affected routes are SH01 (KLCC-Wangsa Maju), SH02 (Pasar Seni-Universiti) and SH03 (Pasar Seni-KLCC).

He added that the service was aimed at reducing commuter traffic at the stations and sought to become an alternative to the Universiti and Wangsa Maju LRT stations.

According to him, various initiatives were carried out to promote the bus service.

The notice on the bus service termination was posted on RapidKL social media platforms. – The Vibes, July 5, 2022
