KUALA LUMPUR – The Pakatan Harapan women’s wing has ruled out working with those who have “betrayed the rakyat’s mandate”, said its chief Aiman Athirah Al-Jundi.

This was said in reference to Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s recent statement urging parties to reconsider cooperation in order to face Umno in the coming general election.

“Whatever they say to us, it’s not to save the people or the country, it's to save their own political skins,” she told reporters earlier today.

Aiman Athirah also urged PH component parties to close ranks in the face of the coming general election and also to remain committed to their shared principles and objectives.

The PH women’s wing was present at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters today to file a report against three Umno leaders for speeches made during the party’s special briefing held over the weekend.

According to Anfaal Saari of the PH women’s wing mobilisation bureau, the speeches, made by Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, and Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said intended to bring disrepute to the judiciary, the Attorney-General’s Chambers, as well as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

This report is one of at least 12 that have been filed against Zahid and other Umno leaders for speeches delivered at last Saturday’s special briefing.

Earlier today, police confirmed that they were investigating Zahid under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. – The Vibes, August 30, 202
