KUANTAN – Two men were killed after the car they were travelling in crashed into another vehicle at Km220.3 of the East-Coast Expressway yesterday.
 
Pahang traffic police chief Kamarulzaman Jusoh said Mohamad Syukri Mat Yusof, 27, and Indonesian Suryano, 30, who were passengers in a Proton Wira, died on the spot in the 10.50pm incident.
 
He said the driver of the car, heading from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan, lost control of the vehicle and hit a railing by the side of the road before ramming into a Toyota Yaris on the right lane.
 
The Proton Wira driver, Muhammad Firdaus Jalani, 18, suffered serious head injuries while a passenger of the Toyota Yaris, Mohammad Syafiq Azmi, 22, was slightly injured, he added. Both were taken to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan here.
