KUALA LUMPUR – It is mandatory for voters who are Covid-19 positive to wear masks when they are at the polling stations, said Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
However, he said that masks for the general public are encouraged when they go to vote tomorrow (early voting) and on polling day this Saturday.
He added that Covid-19 voters are not allowed on public transport, including e-hailing vehicles.
“Covid-19 voters are also not allowed to make pit stops before and after voting. They are to head home immediately once they are done casting their ballots,” he said in a statement today.
“Health officers will be stationed at the polling stations to ensure a smooth voting process for Covid-19 patients. Please cooperate and follow their advice on that day.”
He also advised voters, especially those who tested positive for Covid-19, to adhere to social distancing and practise regular hand sanitisation to help curb the spread of the virus.
Meanwhile, those who have yet to get their second booster shots are encouraged to do so. – The Vibes, November 14, 2022
