KUALA LUMPUR – Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed that he will be the sole prime minister candidate based on the discussion with Barisan Nasional (BN).

The Vibes’ Bahasa Melayu sister portal Getaran reported that the PKR president added that BN said it will not submit any candidate names during his meeting with the coalition.

“As for my main choice for the deputy prime minister’s position… let me be the prime minister first,” he told a press conference today.

Elaborating further, Anwar said that his group will not rush to submit its statutory declarations (SDs) after the extension to the deadline was granted by the king.

He acknowledged that some lawmakers had signed another set of SDs with the Perikatan Nasional coalition.

However, the Tambun MP pointed out that the SDs run contrary to these MPs’ earlier agreement with BN.

Touching on former Umno vice-president and Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein’s rejection of any cooperation with PH and DAP, Anwar stressed that the PH-BN administration will be a unity government.

“He rejected PH and DAP maybe because he was thinking of the previous DAP or PH administration. This is the formation of a unity government,” he said. – The Vibes, November 21, 2022
