KUALA LUMPUR – Zulfadzli, popularly known on Twitter as @bumilangit, has been released this morning, following his arrest on Thursday for allegedly uploading a video containing elements that could illicit racial tension.

A Twitter post by @forsyo shows Zulfadzli exiting the police premises to be greeted by a crowd of supporters around 9.48am.

Zulfadzli had earlier posted a video on TikTok that exposed its users for allegedly exploiting the May 13 incident as a political tool to spread propaganda.

Several politicians, including Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh, Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, and PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, have spoken out against Zulfadzli’s arrest.

They said that bringing extremist content to attention should not lead to the whistle-blower being arrested.

The 39-year-old man was arrested by the Classified Criminal Investigation Unit, Division D5 of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department.

He was remanded for three days to facilitate an investigation in accordance with Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. – The Vibes, November 26, 2022
