KOTA BARU – PAS will hold a meeting to discuss Perak’s political crisis after Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu resigned as menteri besar today, following his defeat in a vote of confidence yesterday.

PAS deputy president, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said several issues wil be discussed, including cooperation with UMNO in Muafakat Nasional (MN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN).

“PAS did not earlier talk to UMNO on the motion. PAS is confident over finding a solution regarding the move taken by UMNO.

“PAS itself had made an official statement on the matter,” he told reporters after visiting several housing estates affected by floods in Wakaf Stan, Kubang Kerian here today.

Yesterday PAS made a stand of not joining the new Perak government, but PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan stressed that PAS would continue as usual at state and national level.

Commenting further, Tuan Ibrahim said he hopes the new state government is not dominated by the federal opposition.

“It should remain under PN. This should be protected and there should be consultation. Whatever it is, I need to respect UMNO and is confident the party has a solution,” he said. – Bernama, December 5, 2020.
