KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysia Cooperative Societies Commission today announced the reappointment of Rusli Jaafar as its executive chairman for a two-year term, effective June 1.

In a statement, the commission said the reappointment which will run until May 31, 2025, was consented to by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in accordance with Section 11(3)(a) of the Malaysian Cooperative Societies Commission Act 2007.

The instrument of appointment was presented to Rusli by Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick.

Rusli, who holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, began his career at the Cooperative Development Department and has served the commission for 30 years.

Within that 30-year period, he has held the post of director in several of the commission’s headquarters and state offices, as well as at top-management level.

He was first appointed the commission’s executive chairman on December 1, 2022. – Bernama, June 23, 2023
