PUTRAJAYA – Budget 2024, dubbed Madani Budget 2, will be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat on October 13, said Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

Speaking at a press conference after attending the Budget 2024 consultation programme at the Finance Ministry here, he said it was being moved forward this year from the previously set fourth week of October.

In line with the theme “Empowering Malaysia Madani”, the public is welcome to provide their input via www.mof.gov.my or through a memorandum submitted to the budget secretariat.

“All suggestions will be studied thoroughly by the (relevant) agencies for consideration,” he said.

The national budget is normally tabled on the last Friday of October.

However, last year, Budget 2023 was tabled on October 7, three weeks ahead of the scheduled date of October 28.

“There could be rising matters after the budget like the tabling of other bills, so we want to allocate more time for that,” added Ahmad. – The Vibes, July 14, 2023
