MACHANG – People in Kelantan need to rise up and demand change during the upcoming state election to ensure their demands, especially regarding basic necessities, are fulfilled.

Kelantan and Terengganu PKR leadership council chairman Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said the state government was seen as not being able to deliver and solve the problems of its citizens.

“The central government has stated its stand of wanting to help Kelantan develop better.

“In fact, we have started many projects, including the flood mitigation project to tackle the longstanding flooding issue in Tumpat,” he said during his speech at the Madani Unity roadshow and Kelantan Unity machinery launch near Bukit Tiu here last night, in the presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Nik Nazmi also stressed that there was no reason why Kelantan, which is led by an Islamic party (PAS) should be one of the poorest states in the country.

“We want the people of Kelantan to come home and vote to benefit from the same change as other states,” he said. – Bernama, July 24, 2023
