KOTA BARU – Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is confident Terengganu and Kedah will “swing back” to Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the coming state elections.
The deputy prime minister said this was based on the fact that the two states had been administered by BN before falling to PAS.
“As for Kelantan, it is not about any ‘swing back’, but concerns a state which is ruled by a party which has promised them paradise.
“However, for Kedah and Terengganu, hard work by all those concerned at all levels can cause a ‘swing back’.
“At the same time, the party machinery must also reach out to fence-sitters and those who are not aligned to any particular party so they are not taken in by false promises from Perikatan Nasional (PN),” he said.
He was speaking after launching the Kota Baru election machinery here, today.
Also present were Kelantan Umno chief Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub and Umno secretary-general Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
Zahid also said he was confident of retaining the three states of Negri Sembilan, Selangor, and Penang. – The Vibes, July 29, 2023
