PETALING JAYA – Dogs are man’s best friend, and a social media influencer recently shared a heartwarming clip of his hiking adventure where a group of furry tour guides took it upon themselves to ensure the safety of this group of humans.

The jungle can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing; possibly with this in mind, a pack of dogs in Kuala Kubu Baru decided to “help” Khairul Aming and his friends out.

The cooking influencer and sambal entrepreneur went on a hiking trip with a group of friends, and met a group of five friendly dogs as they were about to embark on their journey.

“There were five dogs guarding the area and they decided to follow us on our hiking trip,” he shared in the video.

The three minute, two second video has garnered over 8,700 reposts since it was posted late yesterday afternoon on X, and has also amassed over 1.6 million views.

The heartwarming video showed how the dogs guided them on their trail.

Khairul Aming named one of them “Asyu” because he looked like the youngest in the group and was very affectionate. The leader of the pack was called “Along”, while one female was called “Syasya”.

The dogs were well fed throughout the hiking trip, but one of them still looked longingly at Khairul Aming’s bowl of Maggi noodles which he couldn't share with the dog, as it contained a dash of his Sambal Nyet.

Not wanting to disappoint the four-legged hero, Khairul Aming whipped up scrambled eggs and made egg sandwiches for the dogs, which they enjoyed immensely.

As they were about to part ways at the end of the hiking trip, the dogs were fed once again and Khairul Aming expressed hope that he would meet them again on his next hiking adventure.

This is not the first time he has shared his encounter with jungle dogs.

Back in 2021, on a hiking trip in Hulu Langat, he met a stray he named Pali.

In the video, it showed Pali accompanying the group of hikers, even walking in front of them as if to ensure the path was safe for the humans.

Pali’s good deeds were rewarded with sandwiches and nasi lemak.

His one-minute video of Pali earned the dog a spot on the top 10 Twitter trending list in Malaysia at the time. – Bernama, August 8, 2023
