KUALA LUMPUR – Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for institutional reforms to be expedited, so as to bring about good governance that will not betray the people’s trust and welfare.
In a statement yesterday, Anwar, who is also PKR president, said he will uphold the decree by Perak’s Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah on the need for politicians to stop abuse of power, corruption and political ploys.
“I believe that it is not limited to the political situation in Perak (the state’s recent menteri besar crisis). It is also applicable at the federal level.”
He lauded the sultan’s decree for an end to the behaviour of greedy politicians.
Anwar also called for the royal institution, including Sultan Nazrin, to be respected and upheld. – The Vibes, December 14, 2020
