PETALING JAYA – Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s son has questioned why Umno has been unable to seek justice for his father who has already spent a year in jail.

In conjunction with the recent one-year anniversary of Najib’s imprisonment, Datuk Mohd Nazifuddin Najib said the family was unable to contain their frustration anymore as the former prime minister had sacrificed so much for the country and its people.

“If Umno is a champion for the Malays and today, it is also part of the government, then why can’t we get justice for our own leaders?” he asked.

He said though Najib was still behind bars, he tried his best to put on a smile and a brave front for his family.

“If Tun Razak [Najib’s father] is jailed today and not DSN [Najib], will we get justice for him?” he asked in a statement.

He said what was happening to his father was cruel and sad, and his family was disappointed with the people who did not seem to appreciate the services of the former prime minister.

“Whatever sacrifices my father did when he was the prime minister are unappreciated and the people seem to have forgotten everything.

“A year has passed and my father is still behind iron bars,” he added. – The Vibes, August 24, 2023
