PETALING JAYA – While many were sharing their Merdeka parade experiences on August 31, one girl took to TikTok to tell of an unfortunate experience that led to a call to the Fire and Rescue Department.

TikTok user @shazatulakmall endured anxious moments when her cat Putih climbed up a coconut tree and was not able to come down.

The incident happened in Kuala Krau when Shazatul’s white cat scrambled up a coconut tree while it was raining. The cat then hid amid the coconuts and refused to come down.

This led to Shazatul having to call the Fire and Rescue Department for help.

From the video, it can be seen that the tree was very tall and the firemen prepared a net at the bottom to catch the white feline in case of a sudden drop.

They all then started to coax Putih to come down. After several attempts by the firemen and all those present, Putih made its way down and jumped onto the net, unhurt.

In another video, Shazatul said Putih possibly climbed up the tree to get away from a relative who was chasing it.

Putih looked fine after the ordeal and other TikTok users expressed their happiness that nothing untoward happened to the cat.

The video of Putih’s rescue has garnered over 5,000 likes since it was shared. – The Vibes, September 2, 2023
