PETALING JAYA – A healthy lifestyle is often difficult to sustain, especially for politicians who are always on the move.

Their busy schedule often makes it difficult for them to stick to an exercise routine to keep fit.

This, however, is not the case for MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.

While some may look at it as oversharing, the Tapah MP posted seven short clips today of his morning gym routine.

“A little progress each day adds up to big results,” he said in the post which was accompanied by a flexing muscle emoji.

In the clips, Saravanan was seen with a trainer engaging in push-ups as well as lifting weights.

Although he appeared to struggle a little, the 55-year-old pulled off the exercise routines with the help of his trainer.

Another aspiring politician previously promoted a healthy lifestyle while campaigning in the Selangor state election.

Muda’s V.K.K. Raja who was embroiled in a fat-shaming controversy involving his Bukit Gasing opponent Rajiv Rishyakaran said he had always been advocating for a healthy lifestyle.

He had shared a fitness video which was captioned: “Always remember, being fit and healthy is a must; no point in being young when you’re leading an unhealthy life.”

He also described himself as a slightly older and fitter candidate. The post, however, was deleted after he was accused of fat-shaming Rajiv. – The Vibes, September 6, 2023
