PETALING JAYA – It is not every day that one gets to see a photo of a shirtless CEO getting a massage in a meeting.

Capital A (formerly AirAsia) CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes threw LinkedIn for a surprise yesterday when he shared a photo of himself getting a massage by a female masseuse at the AirAsia office in Indonesia.

Fernandes said it had been a stressful week, and that the CEO of Indonesia AirAsia, Veranita Yosephine suggested a massage.

“Got to love Indonesia and AirAsia culture so that I can have a massage and do a management meeting,” Fernandes said.

On a more serious note, Fernandes said: “We are making big progress and I have now finalised the Capital A structure.”

“Exciting days ahead. Proud of what we have built and never have lost sight of the finish.”

One Twitter user remarked how this is why CEOs should stay off LinkedIn.

Even on LinkedIn itself, Fernandes is being called out for posting such a photo, with one user remarking that it was inappropriate.

The director of a realty company said in jest that he has had enough of the internet for one day upon seeing the post.

Despite the brickbats, Fernandes has yet to delete the controversial post. – The Vibes, October 17, 2023
