PETALING JAYA – A male suspect was detained from his home in Bangsar this morning in relation to the MYAirline case.

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said the 40-year-old man will be remanded pending further investigations.

The suspect is also a shareholder of i-Serve Online Mall Sdn Bhd (i-Serve) and was detained at about 1am.

To date, four individuals have been detained, including the co-founder of the low-cost airline, who is a “Datuk”.

Ramli said, so far, police have seized 12 vehicles from two suspects, documents related to i-Serve Technology and Vacation Sdn Bhd, six luxury watches, eight luxury handbags, two laptops, one CPU and 10 pieces of jewellery.

The remand for the main suspect ends today and he will be released on police bail.

Yesterday, Ramli said more than 15 bank accounts with amounts totalling almost RM5 million linked to the co-founder of MYAirline, suspected to be involved in money laundering activities, were frozen.

The co-founder was arrested along with his wife and son late afternoon on October 17.

According to police, the three were detained to facilitate investigations under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (Amla).

The Datuk, 57, who is also a shareholder of MYAirline Sdn Bhd, along with his wife, 55, and son, 26, were arrested at their residence in Shah Alam at 5.30pm.

The man’s wife and son have since been released. – The Vibes, October 23, 2023
