THIS week, Datuk Kamil Othman and Manvir Victor have radio legend Patrick Teoh on board as they travel back in time to look at the history of Malaysian radio.

Stations like Blue Network, Rediffusion and Radio Four shaped conversation and discourse in its time – but are we simply romanticising our FM past with rose-tinted speakers?

The trio have an honest chat about the music of that era and how radio promoted and made huge stars out of artists in those days.

As the precursor to the format radio of today, one wonders if the popularity of podcasts is a sign that people indeed want to hear more talk and less music on their drive home.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions for the duo, drop a tweet to @manvirvictor. – The Vibes, August 11, 2022
