PAHANG – Mohamadou Sumareh can’t hide his excitement of playing his trade abroad for the first time in his career.
However, the 26-year-old admitted his move to Thailand was only temporary as he signed a six-month contract with Police Tero FC.
“I am happy because this is my first time playing outside Malaysia,” he said.
“It’s a different league, so I’m excited to see what awaits me.”
“Maybe I’ll be there for six months to play half the season.”
However, Sumareh did not rule out the possibility of staying longer in Thailand.
“The plan is to be there for six months but we do not know, no one knows. If everything goes well, maybe I will stay there.”
“I cannot predict the future. For now, I only sign for a short period of six months.”
“If all goes well, I will probably be there until the end of the season. I can’t just sit back and wait until next season, lagging behind everyone else.”
“I want to take this opportunity and stay fit so that when I return to Malaysia, I just have to continue it with a team that I myself do not know yet. This is the reason why I joined the Thai League. ”
Sumareh, however, refused to comment on the team he will join next season.
“For now, I do not want to comment on this matter. My focus right now is going to the Thai League.”
“I want to start a new journey, so there is nothing for me to say at this point.”
Sumareh left Pahang before the Liga Malaysia resumed in August due to late payments and contract dispute.
It was later revealed that he was in negotiations to join Selangor next season, though it remains to be seen whether that will happen in the near future. – Football Tribe, September 30, 2020
