ALREADY in the market, The Vibes Sports and Fitness team had the opportunity to test out Fitbit’s Versa 3 so you don’t have to.

Compared to all the other alternatives that have flooded the market over the years, we are here to tell you what is so special about the Fitbit Versa 3?

As a fitness tracker, it does the job just as well as other fitness bands; tracking your steps, heart rate and active zone minutes, but do allow us to talk about the external makeup of the Fitbit Versa 3.

Arriving in its well designed and secured box, the watch comes with an additional strap, which is great for users with bigger wrists, and its magnetic charger makes it extremely convenient to connect and charge.

But that’s not the end of it. Unlike some of the other fitness bands, the Fitbit Versa 3 has the option to activate the ‘always-on display,’ allowing users to view the time and other snippets of their daily activity without having to press anything else.

On top of that, you are able to customise up to five watch faces to suit to your liking and style.

But unfortunately, when it comes to the screen wake - the screen that will direct you to all the other in-built functions - despite turning it from manual to automatic, the sensory isn’t sensitive and since there is no physical button for users to press, you spend a good amount of time touching, feeling, and flipping your band, trying to wake the screen.

Moving on to its functions, the Versa 3 does its job as a fitness tracker, with frequent buzzes to remind the user to get up and move.

So, if you are one to work long hours seated and hoping for something that would provide you constant reminder to move, this would be a perfect fit for you.

However, when it comes to recording your workout statistics, this band does not record an exercise session unless it has manually been changed to workout mode, which could affect your overall record.

Coming with a preinstalled ‘relax’ function that helps you monitor your heart rate before and after a deep breathing session, whose length is adjustable, sending slight vibrations to inhale and exhale, it does help set aside time to relax and take a breather from your busy life.

The best feature of the Versa 3 is the sleep tracker, which accurately calculates your sleep into few categories – Rapid Eye Movement (REM), Deep Sleep, Awake and Light.

The Versa 3 tracks your sleep with finesse and records it into your app but because of how snug it needs to be to track these activities, it feels rather uncomfortable to wear it all night long.

Therefore, if the above are among your priorities when deciding on a fitness band, you could consider the Fitbit Versa 3. - The Vibes. June 27, 2021
